Slimbox Software Update 17.2.1 — More automation, less manual work

Our latest software update is here. At Slimbox, we continuously work towards a smarter, faster and more automated packaging experience. With every update, we bring our software closer to a fully streamlined process — eliminating manual steps so your team can focus on what really matters. This update introduces two new features that take automation to the next level, and resolves a number of bugs for an even more stable and smooth experience.
1. Manual confirm via barcode scanner (API menu)

Confirm a delivery order with a simple scan. In the settings (Settings > API > API Settings > Confirmation Code) you can define a fixed confirmation code. Print that value as a barcode sticker and place it at your workstation. Scan product barcodes as usual via the search bar, and scan the confirmation barcode when the order is complete. Slimbox confirms the order automatically — no additional actions on the screen required. This is especially useful when you have multiple products in a single order and want Slimbox to calculate a shared volume for the most efficient box. Perfect for workflows where you want to keep your hands on the scanner.
Freeze button in the print queue
Sometimes you need to put production on hold. The new Freeze button does exactly that: all orders in the queue are paused, and any new incoming orders are automatically paused too. Press the button again to continue where you left off. Note: the existing Pause All button still works as before, but new orders that come in while it is active will start immediately.
Bug fixes
Material no longer shifts unexpectedly when the software is open in multiple tabs
The preview now updates correctly when editing and resubmitting an order in the print queue
The link between a product and its favourite via SKU number works correctly again
Deleted users can be re-invited to a (different) site
The "Use default machine" toggle can only be enabled when a default machine has been configured
A product with a linked favourite whose dimensions are too large for the default box model is now handled correctly
API orders are now printed with the correct auto rotation
What's next?
In the next update, we are working on a better integration of the Slimbox product scanner and improving print speed for certain box types.
