About Slimbox
Slimbox helps companies reduce their waste production and CO2 emissions while optimizing costs by – literally – delivering the best fit solution. This is our story.
How it started
The Slimbox seed was planted in late 2014, in the Dendermond (BE) printing company Roose. The constant search for the ideal packaging for the fragile printed material in varying formats got owner Rik ‘McGyver’ Roose thinking.
With his knowledge of mechanics he teamed up with his sons Filip and Kristof, who provided the necessary support on electronics and software. Together they started building, prototype after prototype, aiming to make a machine that could create a custom shipping box.
And that’s how the first Slimbox saw the light of day: a robust and efficient laser cutter, and even accidentally the first compact laser cutter of its kind.
In September 2015, son Filip Roose took the leap to become full time Founder and CEO. Later, Kristof and Rik also joined Slimbox full time.
Today they focus on the further development and expansion of the Slimbox story, with a strong emphasis on a rock-solid and innovative technological product.
