Our latest software update is here.
At Slimbox, we remain committed to improving the user experience of our software and machines to make packaging flows simpler, faster, and more reliable.
This update focuses on three key improvements: finding the right box faster, making product workflows more flexible, and improving the use of favorites. Read on to discover what’s new in the latest Slimbox software update.
Find the right box faster
Selecting the correct box model is now more intuitive.
You can now use the search bar in the order menu to find box models based on specific product dimensions. Instead of scrolling through different options or relying on predefined selections, you simply enter the measurements and instantly see which box types are suitable.
This makes it easier to work with unfamiliar products, move faster during busy moments, and reduce trial-and-error when selecting the right box.
More flexibility in the API menu
We’ve significantly expanded the possibilities within the API menu, while also making it easier to use in less integrated environments.
Accessible without API integration

The API menu has been redesigned so it can now also be used without requiring API integration. This means users can fully leverage Slimbox’s product database and packaging logic directly from within the application itself.
In practice, this allows teams to process delivery orders without IT involvement, work with simple tools such as the Slimbox hand scanner, and get started quickly in environments with limited integration.
More control in API-driven flows
For customers working with API connections, we’ve added more control and precision.
It is now possible to define the box model directly in the confirm API call when printing delivery orders. In addition, minimum box dimensions for length, width, and height can now be set for boxes created through the API menu.
This is especially useful when working with courier constraints or minimum packaging requirements. It ensures that created boxes are not only technically correct, but also practical to ship.
Smarter favorites with unique identifiers
Favorites are an important way to speed up repetitive packaging tasks. With this update, they’ve become more flexible and more powerful.
You can now assign one or multiple unique identifiers, such as SKU numbers and EAN numbers, to a single favorite. This makes it possible to group different identifiers under the same packaging setup and retrieve the right favorite more easily.
This is especially relevant when working with the Slimbox hand scanner. Because both SKU numbers and EAN numbers can now be linked to the same favorite, it becomes much easier to call up one or multiple favorites within an order via barcode scanning. This makes integration into existing manual packing flows even simpler and more practical.
Search functionality has also been improved. Quick Search now looks at these unique identifiers, while the general search bar includes both names and identifiers.
The result is a faster and more reliable way to retrieve the right packaging setup, especially in environments with a large or complex product range.
Looking ahead
We continue to build on this foundation.
Soon, the API menu will support printing multiple delivery orders at once, helping to reduce material waste and improve batching efficiency.
At the same time, development of our next-generation Slimbox product scanner is ongoing. The goal is simple: to make measuring products, and even complete orders, as seamless as possible.
