What is the FEFCO 314?

If you’ve ever played with Lego bricks, then you’re already halfway to understanding the FEFCO 314. This isn’t your average cardboard box, it’s a telescoping-style powerhouse that consists of a 3-piece construction. The top and bottom components slide over and fit snugly on the third middle component, which is reminiscent of putting Legos together and is designed to protect large, fragile, or heavy items like a pro.

Why use the FEFCO 314?

When it comes to maximum strength and protection, the FEFCO 314 is a standout. Here’s why:

  • The top and bottom sections slide over the middle sleeve, creating a double wall on all four sides.

  • On the corners and edges, where a product is the most vulnerable, this style provides 4-5 layers of corrugated protection

These extra layers make this box style ideal for providing additional cushioning and transporting heavy, bulky, or fragile items. Watch as we use the Slimbox to quickly produce a FEFCO 314 to package a large cabinet.

When to Use the FEFCO 314

This box style shines when it comes to large and oversized shipments that don’t fit into standard packages due to its versatility and modular design. Heavy furniture, bulky cabinets, and industrial parts are the perfect match for this box. It is not the quickest to assemble because you are dealing with three or four separate pieces, but these extra pieces lend this design the extra protection and comfort your products need. Need something faster? Check out the FEFCO 203 for speedier packaging. But when safety, structure, and a snug fit matter most, the FEFCO 314 is your go-to.

Slimbox Software

This box is available for selection when your WMS/ERP/Backoffice is linked to the Slimbox software, as it can handle most product types and dimensions.

Handling

Step 1: Assemble the bottom tray by lifting the sides along the long edges and folding over the long flaps on the ends to secure the sides.

Step 2: Place your product inside the bottom section.

Step 3: Fold the middle sections and slide it down the sides of the product.

Step 4: Assemble the top cover just like the bottom tray.

Step 5: Place on top of the product and over the middle sleeve to complete the structure..

Step 6: Use tape or strapping to secure all the pieces in place.
